Triangle Factory, the studio behind hit titles like Hyper Dash and Breachers, once again returns to the shooter genre with Forefront, a brand-new game that is set to bring all-out war to VR on a bigger scale than ever before. Where its predecessors redefined fast-paced combat and competitive tactical team-play respectively, Forefront promises to deliver a fresh new experience for players. A game that further builds on the developer’s experience with VR shooters, and that combines the studio’s trademark polish with a bold, ambitious direction.

Pushing the Limits

Forefront is set to push the boundaries of current VR hardware, delivering an unparalleled battlefield-like experience. The game will feature up to 32 players engaging in tense, large-scale warfare across a variety of expansive maps. Players can step into the boots of one of four distinct classes—Assault, Engineer, Medic, or Sniper—each with their own specialized weapons and abilities.

Armed with a vast arsenal of realistic weapons and gadgets, players will fully immerse themselves in combat, navigating the battlefield through an impressive selection of land, sea, and air vehicles, including helicopters, humvees, tanks, and boats. In VR, this experience is taken to the next level—jump into a helicopter, grab hold of the mounted machine gun, and rain fire from above, or take the controls and pilot the aircraft while squadmates fire from the sides. Adding to the chaos, semi-destructible buildings and environments bring a new layer of tactical depth to every encounter. 

Triangle Factory isn’t just raising the bar for VR gunplay—it’s redefining what’s possible in immersive, full-scale warfare. Every moment in Forefront is designed to pull players deeper into the fight, surrounding them with intense action and adrenaline-pumping combat like never before.

Welcome to the World of Forefront

In Forefront, the year is 2035, and a research company has discovered a way to generate clean energy by cultivating a special mold on a rare mineral variation called, Red Orpiment, which is found in various parts of the world. Naming themselves Orpiment Renewable Energy (O.R.E.), the company starts mining Orpiment on a global scale. Their process ends up being so efficient, that it creates an almost infinite renewable energy source by continuously growing the mold on the rare crushed red ore.

Inevitably, O.R.E. becomes obscenely rich and powerful. So much so, they establish their own military force—the Orpiment Resource Enforcement—to protect their mining sites. Players will fight in the battles between O.R.E.’s force of mercenaries and local government armies that seek to end the monopoly over the invaluable red ore.

When Can Players Expect to Play Forefront?

An official release date has not been announced yet, but Triangle Factory is targeting an early access release in 2025, with playtest sessions set to commence as early as this summer!
